2005 Sasekalahewata Letterhead Meet
Fred’s Sign Shop in OKC put on their annual Letterhead Meet
this last March 11-13 2005.
Known as the Sasekalahewata Letterheads, the Shawnee Indian word means:
Educator, or Keeper of our craft.
Making sure to keep that name alive,
there was plenty of activity geared towards
teaching and promoting the craft of Sign Painting.
This included: Lettering, Pinstriping, Airbrushing, Glass Chipping, Glass Etching,
Glass Painting, Sandblasted Wood Signs,
Gold & Silver Leafing, and many special effects utilizing mixtures of these techniques.
Vehicles, Signs, Panels, Tool Boxes, a Refrigerator, Trash Cans,
and virtually anything that would hold still, were fair game for a brush attack!
Some of the names on hand, (that I remember), included:
Bobbo, Magoo, Eric & Pat Elmgren, Yearwood, Dolporto, Rebel, Nouis, Padilla, Li'l Toot.
There were many I met, but, I apologize for not remembering their names.
Special Thanks to Fred, Marilyn, & Family for being such great hosts!!... Looking forward to next year!!!
Although the lighting wasn’t the best for my digital camera, it will give you an idea of the talent on hand!
Enjoy...
